Safe and secure windows and doors for your home or business

Securing your home or business from intruders is something that we all need to take seriously.

Many burglaries take place by forcing a window vent or breaking the glass. Double glazing security is therefore extremely important, particularly double glazed windows to the rear or side of the property as they can be at a higher risk of forced entry.

Generally homes today have double glazing fitted which is manufactured to British Standard BS 7412. Double glazing is widely used because they have a high level of security, and entry is difficult e.g. the glass is very difficult to gain entry through and if it breaks it makes a very loud noise. This makes double glazing a must have as far as security is concerned to protect your home and valuables.

There are two main types of locks for windows and doors. The first being a multipoint locking system which are locks set into the double glazing opening part of the window known as the sash and the door itself. These locks insert steel bolts or hooks into the frame making the double glazed window or door virtually impossible to open from the outside, these operate when you turn the handle to lock the window or door.

Many doors have an additional locking system which are known as 5 lever dead locks and can only be opened with a special key. Many insurance companies request these to meet with home insurance requirements.

At Moulton Windows we provide a range of windows, doors, conservatories and roofline products with security in mind for clients in Norfolk and Suffolk.
